Summary

An area of ridged cultivation marks are visible as earthworks to the southeast of Child Okeford on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are within an area of probable medieval lynchets (MDO3710) and appear partly to respect these, partly to overlie them. They might be medieval ridge and furrow but could include later cultivation. The features were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

An area of ridged cultivation marks are visible as earthworks to the southeast of Child Okeford on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The features are within an area of probable medieval lynchets (MDO3710) and appear partly to respect these, partly to overlie them. They might be medieval ridge and furrow but could include later cultivation. The features were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
