Summary

An area of linear and curvilinear banked earthworks are visible to the east of Child Okeford on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are also associated with a possible trackway and areas of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation (recorded under MDO3708). The features cover an area of around 35 hectares and probably form part of a medieval field system, perhaps an area of former open field, on the east side of Child Okeford and were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

An area of linear and curvilinear banked earthworks are visible to the east of Child Okeford on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The features are also associated with a possible trackway and areas of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation (recorded under MDO3708). The features cover an area of around 35 hectares and probably form part of a medieval field system, perhaps an area of former open field, on the east side of Child Okeford and were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
