Summary
Four small hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the west of Chaston Lane, west of Higher Thurnwood Farm, Mappowder. The features were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and are considered likely to be the sites of post medieval chalk pits.

Full Description
Four small hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the west of Chaston Lane, west of Higher Thurnwood Farm, Mappowder. The features were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and are considered likely to be the sites of post medieval chalk pits. (Environment Agency 2021 (1)).
