Monument record MDO49503 - Post medieval field boundaries, drainage system, Child Okeford

An area of linear banked and ditched features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery within an area of former medieval strip field (MD49502) to the west of Child Okeford. The features divide areas of ridge and furrow cultivation and are probably later features, field boundaries and drainage ditches, although earlier features might also be present. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

The features divide areas of ridge and furrow cultivation and are probably later features, field boundaries and drainage ditches, although it is possible there are also earlier (medieval or later prehistoric) field boundaries within this area. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
