Summary

A linear group of four small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery within the Iron Age hillfort on Nettlecombe Tout, Melcombe Horsey. The features are considered likely to be the result of medieval or post medieval extraction (possibly for chalk) and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project.

A linear group of four small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery within the Iron Age hillfort on Nettlecombe Tout, Melcombe Horsey, CCC 1928 (1). The features are considered likely to be the result of medieval or post medieval extraction (possibly for chalk) and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project, Environment Agency 2021 (2).
