Summary

An extensive area of medieval strip field and associated ridge and furrow cultivation is visible as earthworks to the north of Child Okeford on aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

Full Description

An extensive area of medieval strip field and associated ridge and furrow cultivation is visible as earthworks to the north of Child Okeford on aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; RAF 1947; OS 1975; EA 2018). There appears to have been some loss of features since the 1940s; not all are visible on current lidar imagery.

The features were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
