Full Description
A series of narrow banked lynchets are visible as cropmarks and earthworks to the west of Ranston, Iwerne Courtney or Shroton, on aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (NMR 1982; EA 2018). They might be of medieval original, although, as they are located within a wide area of later prehistoric field systems they could possibly be, or include, features of earlier date. The features were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
