Full Description
Part of a former carriageway to Ranston House is visible as alinear ditched earthwork on aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The feature cuts across the east side of part of the deserted medieval settlement of Ranston (MDO4031). The date of the feature is uncertain but if contemporary to the main house could be 18th century in origin. The feature was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
