Summary

Narrow banked linear features forming regular rectilinear enclosures are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery to the east of Steepleton House, Stepleton Iwerne. The features are located on the west side of a banked and ditched linear feature that might be a trackway or hollow way, also visible as earthworks on lidar imagery. The features overlie earlier features and are considered likely to be of later medieval to post medieval date. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

Full Description

Narrow banked linear features forming regular rectilinear enclosures are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery to the east of Steepleton House, Stepleton Iwerne (EA 2018). The features are located on the west side of a north to south running banked and ditched linear feature that might be a trackway or hollow way, also visible as earthworks on lidar imagery. The features overlie earlier features and are considered likely to be of later medieval to post medieval date. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
