Full Description
A group of three oval hollows are visible as earthworks at Tray Town, Iwerne Courtney or Shroton, on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The features comprise two irregular depressions linked by a narrow linear depression, with a further separate hollow to the northeast of these. The OS Epoch 1 25 inch map shows a group of buildings within the central of the three hollows (OS c1880). The features could be post medieval extractive pits, possibly chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
