Full Description
A possible extractive pit, possibly a post medieval chalk pit, is visible as an earthwork to the west of St Mary's Church, Iwerne Courtney or Shroton,on Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018). The feature comprises an oval hollow around 167m by 50m and on the OS Epoch 1 25 inch map is shown partly as a tree-filled copse (OS c1880). It was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
