Summary

Two Old Flint Pits are marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map on the western side of Nettlecombe Tout, Piddletrentide; one is likely to have been a misinterpreted prehistoric field boundary. Two extractive hollows are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project.

Two Old Flint Pits are marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map on the western side of Nettlecombe Tout, Piddletrentide (OS 1888 (1)); one is likely to have been a misinterpreted prehistoric field boundary. Two extractive hollows are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project. (Environment Agency 2021 (2)).
