A linear group of three 'Old Chalk Pits' is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map on the north west facing slope of Nettlecombe Tout, Piddletrentide. (1888 (1)). They are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project. (Environment Agency 2021 (2)).
