A group of 'Flint Pits' is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map towards the eastern end of Thorncombe Eweleaze, Piddletrenthide. Several very low hollows are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project.

A group of 'Flint Pits' is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map towards the eastern end of Thorncombe Eweleaze, Piddletrenthide. (OS 1888 (1)). Several very low hollows are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project. (Environment Agency 2021 (2)).
