Full Description
An 'Old Chalk Pit' is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map on the northern edge of Ball Wood, Piddletrenthide. (OS 1888 (1)). It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project. (Environment Agency 2021 (2)). A second smaller pit is visible on lidar immediately to the north.
