Full Description
An 'Old Sand Pit' is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map on the northern edge of Hill Wood, Alton Pancras, (OS 1888 (1)). It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project; it is one of a linear series of four hollows. (Environment Agency 2021 (2)).
