Full Description
Two post medieval chalk pits are marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map on White Way, Alton Pancras; one would appear to have been disused at the time of the survey (OS 1988 (1)). They are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project. (Environment Agency 2021 (2)).
