A 'Chalk Pit' is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st editon map to the north west of Bookham, Buckland Newton (OS 1888 (1)). The pit is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project. (Environment Agency 2021 (2)).
