Summary

A small round mound, 4m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the east of Chaston Lane, Chaston Farm, Buckland Newton. The feature has an outer ditch and whilst of uncertain date and function, may be a post medieval pillow mound. It was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and has since been levelled.

Full Description

A small round mound, 4m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the east of Chaston Lane, Chaston Farm, Buckland Newton (1). The features has an outer ditch and whilst of uncertain date and function, may be a post medieval pillow mound. It was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and has since been levelled. (2)
