The remains of a post medieval drainage system are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the south of Mappowder village.The fragmented system of perpendicular ditches covers an area of over 4 hectares; it was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and has since been levelled.

The remains of a post medieval drainage system are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 (1) to the south of Mappowder village.The fragmented system of perpendicular ditches covers an area of over 4 hectares; it was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and has since been levelled (2).
