Summary

A curved linear banked feature is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery crossing two modern fields to the east of Fir Tree Farm, Mappowder. The feature is 280m long and considered likely to be a field boundary of uncertaion date. It was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

Full Description

An extensive series of parallel banked field boundaries are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery across serveral modern fields to the west of the Gas Distribution Center, Mappowder. The features cover an area of 26ha to the north of Evils Wood Lane. They were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and considered likely to be the remains of enclosed medieval strip fields. 1)
