Monument record MDO49175 - Settlement remains, Hammond Street, Mappowder

Please read our .

Summary

Earthworks of linear features between Taylor's Lane and Hammond Street form enclosure, within one of which a block of ridge and furrow appears to survive. Irregularities next to the track from Taylor's Lane to Hammond Street suggest that there may have been house platforms in this area. The earthworks are disrupted by later drainage in places, but are probably a settlement of medieval and post-medieval date.
