Summary

An archaeological evaluation in 2004 of land proposed for development revealed evidence of a tannery on the site from the late seventeenth to late eighteenth century. A number of pits containing horn cores and the lower leg bones of cattle, sheep and pit were recorded, as well as a brick-lined lime pit or tank.
