Summary

An archaeological evaluation in 2004 of land proposed for development revealed evidence of Medieval occupation. Traces of a wall likely to be the boundary of a burgage plot were recorded. Soil layers and a pit suggested that the area was back gardens or yards of properties on Abbey Street in the medieval period.
