Monument record MDO48489 - Early Iron Age post hole, Common Mead Lane, Gillingham

Please read our .

Summary

A small pit or post hole excavated by Cotswold Archaeology during excavation in 2022 in advance of housing development. The feature was quite isolated but resembling postholes recorded in another part of the excavation area; the fillings of these contained prehistoric pottery, probably of Early Iron Age date, and the archaeologists on site thought this isolated post hole likely to be of similar date.
