Find Spot record MDO47985 - Medieval and post-medieval pottery, 23 Wick Lane, Christchurch

Potterty sherds found in the front garden of 23 Wick Lane and shown to the Finds Liaison Officer, Portable Antiquities Scheme who identified them as ranging in date from Saxo-Norman to post-medieval.

'I understand Finds Liaison Officer Ciorstaidh Hayward Trevarthen may already have been in touch with you to let you know I am contacting you about some pottery finds she took a look at for me at the recent Ask an Archaeologist event in Wimborne.

Finds Summary: 11 pottery sherds found in first 12" layer of front garden flower bed, while gardening over a period of a year. Finds ranging from Saxo-Norman (' A' in attached photo) through Medieval (B-E) to Post-Medieval (F-H), from Ciorstaidh's observation. All 'manuring size' except A, which = about 5x6cm.
