Full Description

A socketed axehead of Bronze Age date found by divers off Chesil Beach. The exact location of the discovery is unknown, but it is in the vicinity of the wreck site recorded by 1593646.

Examination of a photograph of the find show it to be approximately 10cm long. The edges of the axehead have been rounded due to weathering by water action. The points where a side-loop was attached can be seen at the base of the axehead, but the loop itself is no longer present. <1>
