May 25. Reference from Treasurer Danby to the Customs Commissioners of the petition of Peter Renew, of London, merchant, shewing that the MERCHANT ADVENTURER, of London, was cast away in March near Poole, where 360 hogsheads of wine, 51 tearce of honey and about 58 pieces of brandy were saved, and praying leave to enter the brandy on paying duty which will amount to 300l., and to be excused from entering the rest of the cargo, the goods being imported from Bordeaux before the Act of Prohibition [of French goods].
