Summary

1666 wreck of an English cargo vessel which stranded upon Portland en route to Lyme Regis with salt and tobacco. Built of wood, she was a sailing vessel.

Full Description

Lime Feb 3. "A vessel of Plymouth laden with salt and Tobacco bound hither being put off by a Dutch Caper in Torbay, the the Leeward of this Port, was unhappily cast away upon Portland on Tuesday last the ship and goods all lost and one man drowned." (1)
