Full Description

Roman coins are most numerous, especially the third brass of Constantine, after a ground sea on Chesil Beach (SY 6676), Portland. (1).

Dr Ellis had seen a great number of Roman coins, brass and silver, that had been picked up there after ground seas. (2)

Chesil Beach is an extensive feature and was not perambulated. No further information was obtained to enlarge on the above. (3)
