Full Description

A key, probably 14th century, has been found at Cheselbourne. The ward is of iron and corroded, the handle is of bronze. (1)

On display at Dorset County Museum, Dorchester, and classified as Roman. Acc. No. 1858.4.11.(2)

Col. Drew of the Museum, arrived at the conclusion that the key was Roman. No further information was obtained on the find site. (3)
