Summary

Neolithic flint implements found at Dewlish include flaked flint axes and picks, and a partly polished flint chisel or axe. All are in Dorset County Museum, Dorchester. The exact find spots are not known.

Full Description

The following flint implements from Dewlish, are preserved in the County Museum. One chipped flint axe; approx. 6 ins long 1 1/2 ins wide. Acc.
No. 1895 1.1.

Three pick-heads of chipped flint; all approximately 5 ins long and 1 1/2 ins wide. Acc. Nos. 0.43.1; 1910.3.4.; 1910.3.6.

One chipped flint 'chisel', partly ground and polished, about 3 1/2 ins long and 1 1/4 ins wide.

All the above exhibits are heavily patinated, and are classified as Neolithic. <1>

No closer location or information was obtained during field investigation. From the varying accession dates all the implements appear to be separate chance finds. <3>
