Summary

One of the barrows in this area was opened in 1880 by antiquarian Edward Cunnington, who found an inhumation burial of a young person with two beakers, and a cremation.

Full Description

A small barrow (Cunnington's No.19 Grinsell's No.29 - unlocated) with central grave contained a primary cremation beneath the top of a probable banded bucket-urn (inverted). The barrow stood near Cunnington's No.14 which Grinsell locates at 66509174 near Forty Acre Plantation, Bradford Peverell. <1-3>

‘Cunnington 12: inhumation (primary?) of young person placed N.-S., with 2 small beakers(?) and cremation to S. The inhumation was in a grave covered by a cairn. At least 1 beaker in DCM.’
