From a `bowl-shaped` barrow on Steepleton Down. <1>

Mentioned and figured. <2>

An unlocated barrow, opened by Warne. Primary cremation with perforated axe-hammer of green stone; potsherds in the material of the mound. <4>

Accn No 1885.16.10. Similar information and slightly hourglass perforation which is usually Neolithic (5). Most of the specimens of these axes found in Britain date from the Bronze Age. <5>

The barrow from which this axe was obtained, was not identified during field investigation. <6>
