Full Description
Palaeolithic handaxe found at Stoney Lane gravel pit, Kinson. (Not located, but possibly the gravel pit at SZ 068090). The object is now in Red House Museum, Christchurch.
Grid reference SZ 068090 is not correct. Stoney Lane is now Kinson Road. This may be the gravel pit referred to in MDO8549. Grid reference amended to general location on Kinson Road. (HER compiler's comments 2026)
