Full Description

"A large square oblong single Camp with 4 Barrows by the Highwayside a mile and half (north) from Piddleton (Puddletown - SY 7794) by a little river, crossing the road from Blandford to Dorchester". <1>

No trace of earthwork was found during field investigation though it might refer to a rectilinear Iron Age/Romano-British
field on the hillside at SY 77779600. This is not far from the highway and near one barrow. <2>
