Full Description

(Area SY 639935). In the hamlet of Muckleford "was formerly a chapel; and in Chapel Close foundations, mullions of windows and a font, have been dug up". <1>

Chapel Close is a piece of waste ground situated at (SY 63859361). "I know of no old chapel having stood there" <2.1>. No information concerning an old chapel in Muckleford was obtained during field investigation. Chapel Close was inspected but there are now no signs of a chapel having stood there, but a fairly modern chapel, now converted into a residence, is situated at SY 63879361. <2>
