Full Description
A moat is believed to have enclosed an earlier house on the site now occupied by the present Wolfeton House - late 15th/early 16th century. Strode states that a moat "There was some time invironing the house" but no evidence of such a moat is now visible. The former manor and hamlet of Wolfeton is known to have belonged to the Jurdains in the 14th century. <1>
