Monument record MDO47612 - Medieval manorial chapel and other buildings, Sutton Poyntz, Weymouth

Please read our .

Summary

A manorial chapel and adjacent domestic building, possibly a mill, were discovered during excavations North of the Sutton Poyntz pumping station in 1993. Both were determined as being constructed in the late 13th or early 14th centuries. A water mill and manorial chapel are mentioned in a document of 1329, and presumably the domestic building is the mill.
