Summary

A Bronze Age flat axehead reported in the late nineteenth century as having been found on Preston Down. The exact find spot is not known, but may be in the vicinity of Preston.

Full Description

A Bronze Age flat axe with a projecting ridge running along either margin of the faces, was found on Preston Down. Most of the surface has been figured with a grained pattern; there are also two bands of chevrons (see illustration) (Preston Down not located). <1>
