A small bronze ring fibula, found in November, 1857, at Long bredy, Dorsetshire was exhibited to the Archaeological Institute, May 7th, 1852 by the Rev C W Bingham. It is of the pen-annular form, the ends where the ring is disunited are re-curved, and represent heads of animals, possibly of serpents. This ornament is probably of Roman workmanship. A silver fibula (in Mr. Whincopp`s museum) of the same type, retained in mediaeval times, is engraved in the Journal. (Name centred SY 5668 9080). <3-4>

No further information was obtained during field investigation, and the present location of this fibula was not determined. <5>
