Full Description

Two stylised Celtic stone heads found at SY 4954 9180. Two stones, each carved with a face in light relief in `Celtic' style were found in a quarry at Shipton Gorge, and were probably carved by the same workman. (1)

The heads were found buried in a bank close to the village in 1958. (2)

The heads were `out of this quarry' (at SY 4920 9217) but `were found at SY 4954 9180'. (3)
