Full Description
A series of rich Mesolithic sites occurs on Ashton Farm (SY 662877) and Bayard Barn (SY 670867), stretching to Herrington Farm (SY 687874). They appear to be mixed sites, containing Mesolithic as well as Neolithic material. About 50 very narrow rod-like picks have been found on these sites; two flake axes, half a mace-head, about 1000 scrapers and at least 70 to 80 cores and large quantities of waste flakes. Some of the scrapers are end-scrapers on long blades. <1-2>
