Find Spot record MDO47496 - Neolithic axehead, Creekmoor, Poole

Findspot of a Neolithic polished stone axehead. The axe was found at Creekmoor and is now in the British Museum (Durden Collection, accession number 1892 9.1.87).

No new finds were obtained during investigation in the Creekmoor area. This district is approximately one square mile in extent,
approximate centre SZ 001933, and the find is consequently a marginal one. Present location in the British Museum and accession number accepted from auth.1.

This chisel-like implement is 7.2 ins long, one end being brought to a flat edge. Otherwise the object is roughly circular in section, with a diameter of approximately 1.5 ins. <3>
