Summary

The farmhouse at the centre of the Holy Cross Abbey complex is a substantial brick building of three storeys with attic. It was built as an L-plan house in the late eighteenth century, possibly by the Jesuits. The north wing was partly truncated at its northern end to make way for the construction of the new church (uid 610515) in 1847. The north wall of the north wing was rebuilt and rendered at that time. Also in the late 1840s the interior was remodelled to create kitchens and an infirmary. Now in use as a craft centre.
