Building record MDO47289 - Medway's Farm, Askerswell

A stone built farmhouse said to be of 17th century origin, with a thatched roof. The farmhouse has an additional wing to the North and to the South are several outbuildings. It was reported by an Ordnance Survey fieldworker in 1955 that the house shows "little external evidence of antiquity".

The house is of 17THC. origin but has later additions on the E. and S. The house and buildings are called MEDWAY'S FARM. <2>

The 17THC. Building is a rectangular N.-S. block, built of stone, with modern windows and doorways and a thatched roof. From the N. end an additional wing is of similar construction; and at the S. end are a series of outbuildings. The house shows little external evidence of antiquity. <3>
