Parish Church of St. Mary has walls of local rubble with freestone dressings except for the brick-built south aisle. The chancel arch and south arcade of the nave were rebuilt in the later 15th century and the west tower was rebuilt in 1695 by Robert Browne who also added the north aisle and a vestry; the chancel was reconstructed in 1747-8. Extensive restoration of the church in the 19th century included the rebuilding of the chancel in 1862. <1>
