Summary

The house called Charlton Barrow is said to have taken its name from a round barrow in its grounds. The barrow is thought to have been destroyed, since it cannot be seen as an earthwork, and human remains are said to have been found in the vegetable garden in 1863.

Full Description

In the vegetable garden attached to Charlton Barrow (a residence) human remains were found in 1863. No authentic information can be obtained as to the existance of a barrow here. <1>

No further information. The site is topographically suitable for a barrow, and with the name, possibly the site of one. <3>
