A hammer stone formed from a rounded pebble was found in 1955 and presented to the Dorset County Museum by the finder.

Full Description

B: SY 94869857. Another hammer-stone, found this year. Col C.D.Drew has seen this stone. It is 3ins. in diameter formed from a rounded pebble, and is slightly pitted and blackened as if from burning. This hammer-stone will also be presented to the Dorset County Museum in due course.

Miss Chandler ... pointed out the site of the more recent find on the map; the area is now under grass. <1>
