Summary

Site of a Light Anti-Aircaft Artillery Battery situated to the west of the Wareham Road which passes close to the Royal Naval Cordite Factory on Holton Heath. It was designed for the defence of that establishment, and is known to have been operational between 1942-3 when it was manned by troops of the 448th Battalion from 84 Regiment. The emplacement was installed with a single 40mm gun mounted on a Mark II platform. There are no surviving remains. Ground photo with archive report.
